Rod, I really appreciate you writing this. I have read the Bible all my life. But in 2016 I began reading it with a passion, much as you described in this article. And as of today, I am on my 90th time through. My grandfather was on his 132nd time through the Bible when he passed away. His example has been one I have desired to follow.
I firmly agree with you that reading the Bible cover to cover in an abbreviated time frame brings so much more understanding to Scripture and opens up many truths that remain hidden when we read it in 5-10 minute increments and jump all over the place. Like you, I desire to encourage others to “read the Bible everyday, for the rest of their lives.”
